Retain Players Using Social Media!
Jul 23, 2009
I follow PokerHeaven on Twitter and today they send the following:
”Don’t forget to sign-up for tonight’s €500 Facebook Freeroll at 18:30 GMT. All the details can be found here -> http://bit.ly/CgBNh”.
To be able to participate in the Freeroll you have to join their Facebook group. This is a great way of using different social media to find new players and also make current players more active.
The only thing that bothers me is that when going to their portal it is very hard to find the information about the Freeroll there. You have to click on promotions and then go to the ”€500 Facebook Freeroll” page.
I think PokerHeaven could do a better job by having a more active and updated start page on their portal where they could have an banner or write in the news section about today’s Facebook Freeroll to get players who don’t use Twitter or know about their group joining the PokerHeaven group on Facebook.
PokerHeaven should also make it more visible on their portal that they are on Twitter and Facebook so players can go find them their as well. It is important to be consistent in all your communication channels!
I think it is great that PokerHeaven is using social media to find new players as well as retain players!
